No Risk to the Business Owner

Safe and Trusted Canada is a consumer-focused business information directory designed to help consumers research and compare businesses. The business always controls its business and can request removal at any time. See our application.  Trust Matters

We need businesses with Trusted Factors

Safe and Trusted Canada provides consumers with business information through Information-Only Profiles. These profiles reflect information consumers would reasonably expect to find online and may include publicly available contact details, the business’s contact details (if publicly available), links to social media platforms, and links to third-party review or profile sites associated with the business.

Consumers are responsible for reviewing all linked content, ratings, and reviews. Third-party review platforms may display both positive and negative feedback, and links change over time. Safe and Trusted Canada does not control, verify, or restrict Information Only Profiles based on quality, including both positive and negative feedback. We will list all businesses and links to all review sites as part of our inclusion standards.
We list all review sites and social media sites so that the consumer has full information. We do not endorse any review site or social media site. Those sites are accountable for their own reports.

An Information-Only Profile is presented exactly as labelled- for informational purposes only.

Participation in Safe and Trusted Canada is designed to create no risk for business owners. Safe and Trusted Canada is a neutral, consumer-facing informational directory and does not accredit, endorse, validate, or rank. or recommend any business. A business’s presence, absence or subscription level does not reflect its credibility, quality, trustworthiness, legitimacy or regulatory compliance. A listing may be archived if the business fails to update or manage its information, ceases operation or requests removal.

Information-only profiles may be removed at any time without contacting the company if it is inactive or unverified. If a business requests removal, Safe and Trusted Canada will archive the listing. Archiving removes the business from public view but prevents accidental re-listings in future updates. Archived records are retained internally for administrative purposes only. Businesses that maintain an active account and accurate information remain listed according to their current subscription level. Safe and Trusted Canada recognizes that Restaurants. Hotels and other hospitality businesses differ from credential-based service providers. These listings are retained to preserve consumer choice, particularly in small communities, and rely primarily on ratings and public reviews from multiple platforms.

Business owners remain in control of their participation in Safe and Trusted Canada at all times. Participation is voluntary. Businesses may update, downgrade, or cancel their subscription at any time. They will remain as an Information Only profile unless the owner confirms they are no longer in business or the business requests removal.

Businesses with an Information-Only profile may contact Site Administration by email or through the chat widget to request correction to basic factual information. Businesses may also apply for a free Basic Subscription, which allows them to manage and update profile content directly and, where applicable, display business-provided credentials.

When a business is confirmed to be permanently out of operation, its profile is marked “Out of Business” to inform consumers.

Profile Alerts and Consumer Notices

Safe and Trusted Canada may apply a visible alert to a business with an account profile where the business controls content in the following situations:

a) A visible alert may be applied where a business represents credentials, certifications, or affiliations that it does not possess. Safe and Trusted Canada does not act as a licensing or regulatory authority; municipal, provincial, and federal agencies are responsible for monitoring business legitimacy, licensing, professional regulation, and workers’ compensation. Displaying credentials is optional and primarily relevant to contractor-based businesses. All credentials are self-reported and not required. Businesses are responsible for ensuring that any credentials they display are accurate and up to date.

b) A visible alert may be applied where reviews are represented as independent but originate from individuals connected to the business.

c) Where a business is no longer in operation, Safe and Trusted Canada updates the profile accordingly. This is a common occurrence across all industries. Businesses may notify Site Administration if they have permanently closed. Information-only profiles are updated automatically when closure is confirmed. Where a business previously displayed credentials or where consumer interactions may be affected, a visible “Out of Business” alert may be applied to support consumer awareness.

In each of these cases, an alert remains visible on the profile for one year, after which the profile may be archived, where applicable.

Subscription Notes

Safe and Trusted Canada offers a free Basic Subscription to most businesses seeking to engage with consumers and present their credentials transparently. Paid subscriptions are non-refundable.

If a paid subscription is cancelled, the profile automatically reverts to an Information-Only Profile. Profiles are archived only when a business is confirmed to be permanently closed and has completed the one-year Out of Business visibility period. We tell consumers to protect their interests at all times. See When Do We Archive a Business?
