We would like to remind all businesses and contractors of the importance of accurately listing their credentials on our website. When consumers search for a company or contractor, they rely on the credentials listed to make their decision. Businesses and contractors must guarantee the accuracy of their credentials. Consumers can easily search for a business based on their credentials, such as registration, licensing, and years in business. Similarly, contractor credentials, such as workers’ compensation, liability insurance, and written contracts, provide consumers with the necessary information to make an informed decision.

The Business Owner can measure every view of their profile.  The measured views are secured in the business content management pages and not displayed publicly. See More

You can bypass your competition by simply linking your profile on Safe and Trusted Canada. See the video.

This means the user doesn’t have to search for you as a business on the Safe and Trusted site, which could also mean your customers won’t see your competitors.    This advantage could be huge for you as a business owner.

Use your profile to augment your website. You can add material to your profile more easily than on your website; more importantly, users don’t see your competition. Imagine all the material on your Safe and Trusted Canada profile that is not on your website.

You can also link to all your local affiliations and any business category affiliations that show why customers should pick you. Affiliations enhance a business’s overall credibility. Go to the content management area in the Basic section and list each affiliation under the relevant category. Place the affiliation’s name, then add the link to your listing that corresponds to that affiliation. Place the full link next to the name of the affiliation. All affiliations automatically shorten if you have a professional, advanced or standard subscription.  This also works for your website, linking back to specific parts of it, Using Links in Your Business Presentation.

One of our platform’s benefits is that businesses can list their contact information, social media links, business credentials, and reviews across all their review sites. They can highlight what makes them different and even specific links to their website. They manage their reviews and send all their information to a potential client through a single link. This enables the business owner to provide their clients with a comprehensive view.

Your subscription allows customers to leave reviews. See the tutorial

    See the video about reviews.

All reviews are monitored and posted by the business owner.  You can request the deletion of a corrected customer review or ask for the deletion of a review that is not from your customer.  As a business, you are not allowed to review your own business.  As a business owner, one of your advantages is that you are always on top of your business.

One problem with reviews is that a negative review often blindsides a business. Never be blindsided again. See the video.

One of the problems most businesses experience is not asking for reviews. They are concerned about negative reviews and are not proactive in seeking feedback.

The Safe and Trusted Review system enables business owners to proactively solicit customer feedback and instantly become aware of issues they may not know about.

Use proactive reviews to identify issues quickly for the business owner. This will enable the business owner to mitigate issues swiftly and resolve customer problems before they escalate out of hand, resulting in negative reviews on websites or complaints to the Better Business Bureau.

Do you want to opt out of all Safe and Trusted Canada reviews? Your content management system will allow you to easily select this option.

While Safe and Trusted Canada does not set industry standards, including provincial and city requirements, consumers are more likely to choose businesses that demonstrate strong credentials and transparency.  Listings with verified credentials and positive reputations consistently attract more attention.

Safe and Trusted Canada produces profiles to maximize exposure from day one. The business owner receives an email confirming that their account has been set up. We do not send a username and password.  We set a username and password, and the owner changes their password upon receipt.  Change your password.

The Standard Subscription gives the business owner access to Equote Requests. Safe and Trusted Canada offers Equote Request to consumers as a part of our total search function for businesses.   Businesses with premium subscriptions can receive requests from consumers who want to gather quotes from several companies without making a phone call.  Companies can then follow up with that potential customer.  Just one lead could create a new customer and pay for your subscription many times over.  The business owner can opt out of Equote Requests through their content management area.   See More

We want to remind all businesses and contractors of the importance of accurately listing their credentials on our site. When consumers search for a business or contractor, they rely on the Trusted Factors listed to decide. Businesses and contractors must guarantee the accuracy of their credentials. Consumers can easily search for a business by its credentials, such as registration, licensing, and years in business. Similarly, contractor credentials, such as workers’ compensation, liability insurance, and written contracts, provide consumers with the information needed to make an informed decision.

In all cases, consumers will evaluate and make their own decisions.

Bypass your competition.  Link your profile on Safe and Trusted Canada, and your linking bypasses the competition.  See the video.

This means the user doesn’t have to search for you as a business on the Safe and Trusted site, which could also mean your customers won’t see your competition.    This advantage could be huge for you as a business owner.

Use your profile to augment your website.  You can add material to your profile more easily than on your website; more importantly, the user doesn’t see your competition in the process.  Imagine all the material on your Safe and Trusted Canada profile that is not on your website.

You can also link to all your local affiliations and any business category affiliations that show why customers should pick you.  Affiliations enhance a business’s overall credibility. Go to the content management area in the Basic area and list each under affiliations.  Place the affiliation’s name, then add the link to your listing with that affiliation.  Place the full link next to the name of the affiliation.  If you have a premium subscription, all affiliations are automatically shortened.  This also works for your website and links back to specific parts of it.    Using Links in Your Business Presentation.

One of our platform’s benefits is that businesses can place their contact information, links to their social media, business credentials, and links to all their review sites. They can highlight what makes them different and even provide specific links to their website. Businesses manage their own reviews and send all their information to a potential client in one link. This allows the business owner to give their clients the whole picture.

Your subscription allows customers to leave reviews.  See the tutorial

    See the video about reviews.

The business owner monitors and posts all reviews if they have an account.  Remember, the Basic Subscription is free.  Safe and Trusted Canada may show all reviews if the business has an Information Only profile.

Having an account gives you the advantage of always being on top of your business as a business owner. You can request the deletion of a corrected customer review or ask for the deletion of a review that is not from your customer. As a business, you are not allowed to review your own business. You can ask for reviews from all your customers without worrying about what they’ll say. Your advantage is that you are always on top of your business.

One problem with reviews is that a negative one often blindsides a business.  Never be blindsided again.   See the video.

One problem most businesses experience is not asking for reviews. They are worried about negative reviews and are not proactive about asking for feedback. The Safe and Trusted Review system allows business owners to proactively ask for customer feedback and instantly become aware of issues they may not know about. Use proactive reviews to identify issues quickly for the business owner.  This will enable the business owner to quickly mitigate issues and resolve customer problems before they escalate out of hand with reviews on websites or even complaints to the Better Business Bureau.

Safe and Trusted Canada is looking for businesses with an advertised name registered and meeting licensing requirements for the business’s physical trade area and years in business matters on our website.  We are looking for businesses that can clearly articulate that their credentials in the content management area are provided in account access.

In addition to the business credentials, if you are a contractor, the Site allows the contractor to indicate in writing that they have liability insurance, worker’s compensation, and warranties.    We are looking for businesses that can articulate their credentials in the content management area provided in account access and add to their overall credential score with consumers.

      • Information Only Profiles are as advertised to the public on the internet.
      • As a matter of policy, the Site does not recommend, accredit, suggest, promote, or validate any business. Consumers do that through reviews.
      • The Site provides public links to review sites that permit us to publish those links.
      • The Site provides private links to all other trademarked review sites about the business directly only through their account access.
      • Subscription types give business owners different advertising options, but the Site does not suggest that credibility determines the subscription level.
      • Users can use the Credentials Search’s advanced features to determine the degree of reliability for each business.

  • How Consumer Reviews Are Processed?

Safe and Trusted Canada has a review system

The Information  Only profile does not offer business account privileges. As such, the company cannot respond to or post responses to reviews.

It is noted that a Basic subscription is free for the business. The business owner can decide whether to respond to consumers and post reviews through their content management system. The Basic Subscription allows the business owner to opt out of reviews entirely. The system also offers a QR code that the business can print on a card to give to customers for feedback. This will produce more reviews for the company.

Consumers can leave a review only if they are customers of that business. The consumer needs to include all the data in the review so that the company clearly understands who left it.

The review process requires the consumer to provide an email address, and the consumer receives a verification email confirming that the review is legitimate. Once verified, the consumer can leave reviews on any other businesses on the Site that they have been customers of. However, they can only leave one review per business.

Businesses with accounts can handle reviews, post them, and, of course, respond to them. Safe and Trusted Canada does not handle complaints.

If the consumer has a complaint against a business, has left a review, and is not satisfied with the business owner’s response, other options are available. We suggest that you file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau or seek legal advice. Our Site links to BBB reports, if available, from where you can quickly leave both a review and a complaint.

Although we understand the importance of reviews, we are not interested in business owners leaving positive reviews about their business through their employees or people connected to the company.  This would be a violation of our policy.

Safe and Trusted Canada sees problems with some people leaving reviews about businesses in one part of the country and two hours later leaving a review about a company 2000 miles away.  Sometimes, you will see multiple reviews for different companies, all from the same person on the same day.  The business owner can reject a review from anyone who is not an actual customer.

Our system indicates that business and customer transactions are theirs alone. We do not mediate issues, including reviews.

So our system puts review posting directly in the hands of the business owner, with numerous options to address issues and verify reviews from actual customers who have dealt with the business.

Users can leave a review by placing their email address and, preferably, a phone number in the review area. This allows a business to contact the customer directly to thank them for the review or to give a heads-up about a problem. The email address will be verified only once during our process. This way, users can leave reviews for other businesses on our system.

All Accounts can keep the review for reference, respond directly to the customer, or delete it with a note explaining why the business owner deleted it. The review may also be posted or not posted by the business. Any deleted review is sent to Safe and Trusted Canada administration staff for further review. The Site is looking for companies that can manage and respond to customers.

Posting the review. The business is not allowed to post reviews from those directly connected to the company as an employee or as any staff linked to the business. Doing so would cause concerns because this would be a fraudulent review.

Posting the review with a response.  The area of reply can be for both negative or positive reviews.  The business then posts the review.

Rejection of a review for other reasons.  Other reasons for rejecting a review might be as follows:

    • The business is in a court action with the consumer or is in collections.
    • The business is not aware that this is a customer.
    • The review is a personal attack, not an objective one.
    • Employee complaints and issues.
    • Business-to-business relationships.

The bottom line is that a small percentage of reviews will be negative, and the business must deal with its legitimate customers.  The business owner will not be blindsided and can address issues they were unaware of before they became major problems on social media and multiple review sites.

The business owner must post reviews using their account.

The review format allows the consumer to decide whether to leave a positive, neutral, or negative review. It will also enable consumers to share their opinion on whether they are likely or less likely to recommend this business to others. The business owner verifies the review before it can be posted. If the company does not have an account, the rating is always posted, but the review content is not.

The consumer will only see posted reviews. A rejected review will not appear in the overall rating. Suppose the consumer is unhappy with the business and feels the owner is not treating them appropriately. In that case, they can leave reviews on other sites or take legal action.

Clearly, the site indicates in every profile that transactions between the consumer and the business are between the two entities.

Safe and Trusted Canada provides links to review sites associated with the business. If the company has a subscription, it can opt not to show reviews on other review sites besides Google and the Better Business Bureau.

The business owner will have access to links to other review sites through their account.  These review links may be proprietary to a particular site and may not be published automatically.  The business owner can see information on other sites to correct their business information and may publish their review sites if they have a paid account.

  • What is an Information Only Profile?

Safe and Trusted Canada is a consumer-focused discovery platform.  Our goal is to help consumers compare and identify businesses that are relevant, current, and useful when making purchasing decisions.

Information-Only profiles may appear on the Site to help consumers discover businesses and explore publicly available information, such as contact details and links to third-party review platforms. These profiles are created using publicly available information and do not represent an endorsement, verification, or accreditation by Safe and Trusted Canada. See the video.

Information-only profiles are also created for the business owner.   A business may apply for an account and wish to know which products and services our company offers, as well as which products and services their company may wish to offer consumers through Safe and Trusted Canada.  As soon as the business has an account status, information about our services, possible business categories, and possible trade areas disappears for both the consumer and the business owner.

Information -Only profiles are not permanent listings. They are provided at the Site’s discretion and may be reviewed, updated, limited, or removed at any time.

    Safe and Trusted Canada may remove an Information-Only profile when;

    a) The business is no longer operating or cannot be reasonably verified.
    b) The information is outdated, incomplete, or misleading
    c) The category or region is being curated to improve consumer clarity
    d) The business requests removal
    e) The profile no longer contributes meaningfully to consumer decision-making

Businesses that wish to control, update or expand their presence may apply for a free Basic Subscription at any time. Trust Factors

Safe and Trusted Canada is not a regulator, accreditation body, or complaint authority. Consumers are encouraged to review all available sources and make their own decisions.

Safe and Trusted Canada focuses on helping consumers identify the most relevant and useful business options, rather than listing every business.

All our account types are for legitimate businesses.  The business owner must list their credentials and must not have any readily apparent issues known to consumers.  A business owner can apply at any time.

Safe and Trusted Canada, “The Site”,” now allows consumer reviews. Information-only profiles cannot respond or post reviews because they do not  have account status.  his will give the consumer information that may not be available unless the business takes out an account.

Users are responsible for viewing all the links, ratings, and reviews. The review sites can be positive or negative.   See the Better Business Links if they are available.  The links can change at any time.  The business as an Information Only profile is, as it is highlighted, ” Information Only.”

Information Only profiles can ask for archival of their listing if they are no longer in business.  If Google and Better Business Business Bureau have the business as closed, we will also archive and remove it.  They can also ask for removal as they own their business information.  The Site may remove businesses with incomplete information on periodic review.  Safe and Trusted Canada is a neutral site.

As a business,  if your Information Only Profile needs updating, the company can contact The Site.  There is no obligation for you to apply for an account, but suggest this as an option to grow your business further at no cost.  If you are out of business, please advise so that the site admin can archive your profile.

What is your business credentials score with consumers? See the video.

Consumers can easily search for a business and select the business they want based on credentials.

Is the Advertised Name registered? Is the business licensed for the business category and city or town? How many years they have been in business is also a factor.  You must guarantee that the listed business credentials are correct if you are a business owner.  Your credentials can be viewed and searched by consumers. The Site will not score or validate the credentials.

If you are a contractor, in addition to the above, do you carry worker’s compensation and liability insurance and do you provide written contracts and warranty? So, in addition to the subscription level, contractor credentials provide the consumer with the separation needed between one business and another. A business must guarantee that the listed contractor’s credentials are accurate.  Your credentials can be viewed and searched by consumers. The Site will not score or validate the credentials.

The credential score for hotels and restaurants is the composite review done by Safe and Trusted Canada. All the review sites form the composite review, and that average is the credentials score for that business.   The composite review may be available to the consumer if it is completed.  Hotels and Restaurants will retain their scores because this is an average of all review sites as Information Only profiles.  Once they apply for account status, they lose their credential score.

In all cases, consumers will evaluate and make their own decisions.

    • It is the responsibility of the user to check the credentials advertised by the business.

  • Business Order of Display

The display order affects how the consumer views businesses on this website.

    See the application.  Credibility Counts

The display order is not a factor if the company uses its website’s Safe and Trusted logo and code.  Using the logo and code provided gives a direct link from the company to the profile on Safe and Trusted and bypasses our order of display.

The display order is not a factor when a consumer uses the website’s Credentials Search function, as consumers may be looking for credentials that will impact the display order. For example, looking for businesses that have been in business for ten years or more will significantly affect the view.

All subscriptions are at different levels. The start date of the business subscription determines placement for any account type, except for Information Only profiles, which are currently listed alphabetically.

Please note that we are now adding a new element to the way all listings are displayed to ensure that the consumer deals with the best business possible.

As we can provide to the consumer, Google reviews will be a factor in the business display of our database. For example, the business category of Hotels is currently listed alphabetically for Information-Only profiles. Information profiles will gradually change to display the highest Google Review rating. Other account types will follow suit, making our process fair and equitable for all businesses while clarifying the consumer better.  The new order will be made by subscription type, composite rating, and business name alphabetically for hotels and restaurants.  Composite scores are not a factor for other business categories.

Based on additional information, consumers can view each business’s business and contractor credentials and make their own decisions.

Information Only profiles cannot list business credentials.

If you are a contractor, do you carry worker’s compensation and liability insurance and provide written contracts and warranties in addition to the above? So, in addition to the subscription level, contractor credentials offer the consumer the separation needed between one business and another. A company must guarantee that the listed contractor’s credentials are accurate.  Your credentials can be viewed and searched by consumers. The Site will not score or validate the credentials.  Information-only profiles cannot list business credentials.

All information-only profiles will be seen by the date added to the website by business category and trade area. The Site will still link to various review sites and social media for Information-Only profiles. Information-only profiles can be removed if they verify they are no longer in business or at the business owner’s request.

In all cases, consumers will evaluate and make their own decisions.

If a company moves from a Professional Subscription to a Basic Subscription, it loses its subscription level and does not retain the date of its initial signup.

Consumers can refine their search by viewing the business’s external review sites and reviews generated on Safe and Trusted Canada.

What is your business credentials score with consumers? See the video.

We would like to remind all businesses and contractors of the importance of accurately listing their credentials on our website. When consumers search for a business or contractor, they rely on the listed credentials to make their decision.

Businesses and contractors must understand that consumers can view and search their credentials. The site will not score or validate credentials; consumers are responsible for their own decisions. Therefore, businesses and contractors must take responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of their credentials.

By accurately listing your credentials, you can establish trust with potential customers and stand out from your competitors. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the accuracy of the listed credentials.

The credential score for hotels and restaurants is the composite review done by Safe and Trusted Canada. All the review sites form the composite review, and the average is the credential score for that business. The composite review may be available to the consumer if it is completed. Hotels and Restaurants will retain their scores because this is an average of all review sites as Information-Only profiles.

In all cases, consumers will evaluate and make their own decisions.

The business is in the fourth tier of the database.  See the video.

The business is displayed above: Information Only Profiles, Basic Subscriptions, and Plus Subscriptions for those who may have signed up for the Plus Subscription after your business in your region or categories. Your listed business credentials also impact the order of display. The Plus Subscription is listed according to our Business Order of Display.

Bypass your competition.  Link your profile on Safe and Trusted Canada, and your linking bypasses the competition.  See the video.

This means that the user does not have to search you out as a business on the Safe and Trusted site, which could also mean that your customers won’t see your competition.    This advantage could be huge for you as a business owner.

Use your profile to augment your website.  You can add material to your profile more easily than on your website; more importantly, the user doesn’t see your competition.  Imagine all the material on your Safe and Trusted Canada profile that is not on your website.

You can also link to all your local affiliations and any business category affiliations that show why customers should pick you.  Affiliations add to the overall credibility of a business. Go to the content management area in the Basic section and list each affiliation under the relevant category.  Place the affiliation’s name, then add the link to your listing with that affiliation.  Place the full link next to the name of the affiliation. If you have a Professional, Advanced, or Standard subscription, all affiliations are automatically shortened.  This also works for your website and links back to certain parts of your website.    Using Links in Your Business Presentation.

One of our platform’s benefits is that businesses can place their contact information, social media links, business credentials, and all their review sites.  They can highlight what makes them different, promotions, now hiring, and even specific links to their website.  They manage their reviews and send all their information to a potential client in one link.  This allows the business owner to give their clients the whole picture.

Your subscription allows customers to leave reviews.  See the tutorial

    See the video about reviews.

All reviews are monitored and posted by the business owner.  The advantage here is that you are always on top of your business as a business owner.  You can request the deletion of corrected customer reviews or even ask the customer for a new review.  As a business, you are not allowed to review your own business.    The advantage is that you are always on top of your business.

One of the problems with reviews is that, too often, a business is blindsided by a negative review.  Never be blindsided again.   See the video.

One problem most businesses experience is not asking for reviews. They are worried about negative reviews and are not proactive about asking for feedback.

The Safe and Trusted Review system allows the business owner to proactively ask for customer feedback and become aware of issues that may be unknown to the owner.

Use proactive reviews to identify issues quickly for the business owner.  This will enable the business owner to quickly mitigate issues and resolve customer problems before they escalate out of hand with reviews on websites or even complaints to Better Business Bureau.

Present Your Business Basics First.  We call them credentials.  See the video.

Safe and Trusted Canada is looking for businesses with an advertised name registered and meeting licensing requirements for the business’s physical trade area.  Years in business matters on our website.  We are looking for businesses that can clearly articulate that in their credentials in the content management area provided in account access.

In addition to the business credentials, if you are a contractor, the Site allows the contractor to indicate in writing that they have liability insurance, worker’s compensation, and warranties.    We are looking for businesses that can articulate their credentials in the content management area provided in account access and add to their overall credential score with consumers.

The business owner agrees to receive Safe and Trusted Canada emails regarding customer reviews, instructions, updates, and monthly newsletters. The video shows your content management system for your business

  • What Causes an Alert About A Business?

Alerts for Information Only Profiles apply as follows.

An Information-Only profile will have a temporary alert placed on the business if it asks for removal or has gone out of business as an Information-Only profile.

The alert is placed on the business, which will be archived at the same time we place the alert.  The Site will keep the company in our database as archived and not visible.  Pending Google’s update of our site, it may still show up on Google for a short period of time.

A company that has an Information Only profile can ask to have an account and the ability to update their business information through their account-protected username and password.

Alerts for Account Holders occur when a company has violated the Site significantly.    Account holders may have an alert for the following three reasons.

    a)  The Account Holder has placed credentials into their profile that they do not have.  The company has committed a major violation of our Site policies and affected the Site’s credibility and all businesses on the Site.  If they do, the company has violated our Site policies significantly. It results in retention on the Site with an Alert Status as an Information Only Profile for one year before archival from the Site. This issue is completely avoidable by the business owner.

    b)  Account holders can opt out of reviews.   Consumers can leave reviews about their business on the Safe and Trusted Canada site.  A consumer cannot leave a review if the business has opted out of reviews.   If the business opts into receiving reviews on the Safe and Trusted Site , then the  business is cautioned not to approve reviews directly or indirectly from staff, employees or those connected with the company.   If they do, the company has violated our Site policies significantly. It results in retention on the Site with an Alert Status as an Information Only profile for one year before archival from the Site.  Please note that a company has a choice not to handle reviews by not opting out of reviews from their account.  This then would eliminate this issue entirely.

    c) The account holder has gone out of business.

    d) The Alert is placed on the business for one year.  After one year, the company is archived and no longer visible.

What we have often found is that the business owner has a marketing agency looking for increase their search engine optimization for the business.  The marketing agency has no great knowledge of the business or contractor credentials as a result this becomes a liability to the business.

This is why we prefer to deal with the business owner at all times to ensure they understand the purpose of the site and what makes us different from other providers.    The site will work directly with any business owner to ensure everything is accurate and more importantly complete to attract consumers to their business.

  • Consumer Equote

Safe and Trusted Canada offers Equote Request to consumers as a part of our total search function for businesses.

Businesses with premium subscriptions can receive requests from consumers who want to gather quotes from several businesses without making a phone call.   Just one lead could make a new customer.

This is an automatic benefit to some key business categories.  The business owner has the ability to opt out of Equote Requests through their content management area.

The consumer selects the trade area and then the business category.

The consumer selects the standard credentials they are looking to business to have first.  Here they will decide on how many years in business are necessary, whether the advertised name of the business is registered and if all the legal requirements for the trade area and category are in place.  The business owner has to guarantee what they place in their credentials area is accurate or if it is subsequently shown that the credentials are false, the business will be faced with an alert notification on their profile for one year and will be removed.

If the business category is a contractor, the consumer yet again determines the contractor credentials they are looking at the business to possess.  Again the credentials placed into the profile by the business owner must be accurate.

The consumer fills out their name, phone number and email address and enough detail that makes it easy for the business to contact you and arrange a quote.

Please note that it is up to the business owner if they want to opt into the request equote system.   They do this through the content management system of the Safe and Trusted platform for their business.

Only businesses that have agreed to be part of the request equote will be seen by the consumer for selection purposes.

This benefit allows the consumer to ask for quotes from up to 10 businesses at one time.  This saves the consumer time and money and is only done after the consumer has listed the credentials they are looking for in hiring a business in the first place.

The consumer can select up to 10 businesses if available and places their email contact into the form as well as their phone number, first and last name.   The consumer adds content to give the business more information as to what they are requesting.  EG. Roofing quote for 1000 square foot house.  Looking for a quote from a business that provides total cleanup and hauling of debris away as part of the overall price.

Admin contacts the consumer to ensure that they are a viable lead or that our Site can provide assistance.   The businesses on our Site will have generally more qualifications, credentials, and history than other sites where there is no system of sort and selection involved.

The business seen first in the database has a greater opportunity to receive requests.  This is a great lead system for the business as well as saving time for the consumer.

The Site automatically reduces the subscription to an Information Only profile should the subscription be cancelled.  The company may also be archived.

  • When Do We Archive a Business?

A business in the marketplace has links to social media, review sites, and business directories, affiliations, and of course, the website of the company.

Safe and Trusted Canada provides links to everything that we can readily find about the business.   The links could show excellence or a need for improvement.  Safe and Trusted Canada allows the consumer to make their decisions on the quality of the links as well as the quality of the content.  There is no interpretation, nor does Safe and Trusted Canada endorse, validate, recommend or suggest a business.  We provide a system where the consumer sorts and selects companies based on the criteria the user feels vital to them.

Information Only profiles contain links to your website, social media, and other review sites that are already available to the consumer.  We include your contact data and additional information available to consumers in one profile.  It is as if the consumer did the research, and of course, we will be happy to update your data if there are changes.  The archival of the business occurs if the company is no longer in operation.  The business owner can contact us, and we are more than happy to inform the Better Business Bureau and Google that your business is no longer in operation. They can contact you directly if required.

Account Holders – To protect consumers, other businesses, and the integrity of the Site, Account holders have higher standards and greater responsibilities as a business.

The reason for this is that the company is now placing content on our Site and has control over reviews, placement of now hiring links, links to affiliations, and can place their credentials into their business profile.

Should an account no longer be in operation, the business changes from account status to an Information Only profile?  If the firm develops an F-Rating with Better Business Bureau, or reviews show that the company profile shows concerns, the business profile becomes an information Only profile.

The company develops an alert if they place credentials into their business profile they do not possess or post reviews on their profile from people connected directly or indirectly with the firm. Archival cannot happen if the business has an alert. See Alerts.

The Site automatically reduces the subscription to an Information Only profile should the subscription be cancelled.  The business may also be archived.  See When We Archive a Business.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE PLACE THE FOLLOWING CONTENT INTO EVERY PROFILE

Safe and Trusted Canada is a wholly owned Canadian Company.  We are different from every other business directory and understand that your business is vital to you as a business owner.  As a business owner, you’re in charge, with options to expand your business at little to no cost.  Our website is written in English, but most modern browsers can translate the content into your preferred language.

Safe and Trusted Canada is a consumer-focused discovery platform that identifies businesses that are relevant, current, and useful when making purchasing decisions.
Information-only profiles may appear on the Site to help consumers discover businesses and explore publicly available information such as contact details and links to third-party review platforms. These profiles are created using information commonly found online and do not represent an endorsement, verification or accreditation by Safe and Trusted Canada.

Information-Only profiles are not permanent listings.  They are provided at the Site’s discretion and may be reviewed, updated, limited, or removed at any time.

Safe and Trusted Canada may remove an Information -Only profile when:
    a) The business is no longer operating or cannot be reasonably verified
    b) The information is outdated, incomplete or misleading
    c) The category or region is being curated to improve consumer clarity
    d) The business requests removal
    e) The profile no longer contributes meaningfully to consumer decision-making.

Businesses that wish to control, update, or expand their presence may apply for a free Basic Subscription at any time.

Safe and Trusted Canada is not a regulator, accreditation body, or complaint authority. Consumers are encouraged to review all available sources and make their own informed decisions.

If you are an account holder, you can remove this content from your business listing in one click.

  • How To Manage Your Business Content?

    Logging Into Dashboard

All business owners can log into their accounts. The login area is located on the main page of the Safe and Trusted website. Once you’ve successfully logged into your account management system, you’ll be presented with the Dashboard and Listings.  See video

We also sue tooltips to give guidance to the business owner at all times.  Making Account Management Easier with Tooltips

Safe and Trusted Canada sets up an account using the business owner’s email address. The business owner is sent a temporary password to access its account. The business owner will need to reset its password, which must contain eight characters composed of only letters and numbers. There must be at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number.  This is necessary for security reasons as the user can change content for your listing.

When you navigate to the listings, you’ll immediately see the businesses you have the power to manage.   The user can oversee unlimited businesses through the dashboard, giving the business owner total control of its operations.

The business has  13 content management areas, and depending on their subscription type, they may be unable to place content in specific tabs.  These sections comprise system components that provide an overview of your business account and enable you to manage your listings. You’ll need an email associated with your business for account access. The company can grant staff access to manage the business account.   However, it’s essential to consider that staff may not possess sufficient knowledge about your business to fill in the credentials area for the business accurately.  They may need guidance in that area.

A business owner who selects the Professional Plan may not need an account if they do not want to accept reviews on our system or are not interested in the eQuote system for contractors.  Our administrative staff will handle everything, and communication to get things right can be conducted through online videoconferencing or email.  We begin by maximizing the content on the business website.

The Basic Info Area: This is the starting point for all businesses. Remember, we can do this for you if you are purchasing a premium account.   The Basic Info area now has tooltips, making it easier for the business owner to understand what content the database is requesting from the business. It also outlines the format and common mistakes business owners may make when entering data. You can see tooltips by clicking on the icons. See more

The Categories Area: Safe and Truste Canada has developed a list of categories and subcategories to help businesses maximize their presence and ensure consumers can find them on the Site.  The business owner selects the primary category first, then the first subcategory within it, to ensure proper indexing.  When we place an Information Only profile on Safe and Trusted Canada, we list possible Primary Category Possibilities for the business owner and the subcategories, making it easier for the business to complete its selection process.  See more

    Categories Tab

Safe and Trusted Canada has developed a list of categories and subcategories to help businesses ensure consumers can find their business on the Site.  This list is for the business to ensure they can maximize their categories.

The business owner selects the business category first and then the first subcategory within a category so that the site can adequately index the business.

The Basic Subscription allows up to 5 subcategories.  The Professional Subscription provides up to 60 subcategories.

Safe and Trusted Canada may add categories and subcategories as needed. Some categories require a professional affiliation with an account status to be included on the Site.

    See the video

    Regions  Tab

Each region is a province.   A province displays cities and towns in this order.  The largest city is first, and the capital is second.   See the video.

All other cities and towns are shown in alphabetical order.   The Basic and Plus Subscriptions allow one entry, typically the city or town where the business is based, as listed on Google My Business Listings.  The Standard, Advanced, and Professional subscriptions offer varying placement possibilities.  The professional subscription allows 20 trade areas in a province.  A business that requires additional allocated spaces can contact us for pricing information.  Please note that all regions with trade areas are indexed, and consumers can view all categories for a particular city on demand.  Businesses listed here are organized by account type and the date the account was entered on the Safe and Trusted website.  See Vancouver as an example.

    See the video

    Credentials Tab

The first credentials area is for all businesses.  See the video
Here, the company indicates that it has the required licensing and legal requirements in place. The advertised name is legally registered, meaning the business is registered with the corporation’s branch in their province. The company must select that all credentials are accurate and that the owner handles complaints directly. Years in business is the length of time that the business name is registered.  A business owner can indicate their experience level in the “About Us” section of their Basic Info.  Please note that if the company is not legally registered, it should not indicate that it is.  Many businesses are chain-related or franchise-related, and some operate as sole proprietorships under the business owner’s name.

The second credential area is just for contractors. Liability insurance and workers’ compensation are mandatory. Everything else is easy to understand. Will give supplier references to protect consumers from liens. This was brought about after a roofer failed to pay the supplier, and the supplier threatened to place liens on houses that the contractor had shingled but did not pay.

Please note that if the business indicates it holds a specific credential, we keep it to it. If the business owner lists a credential that is not in their profile, it may trigger an alert and result in the business’s subsequent removal after one year.

    Review Sites

Safe and Trusted Canada lists 51 review sites in total, ensuring that business owners have a comprehensive understanding of their business.  See the video.

Any links to the Better Business Bureau, Google, Safe, and Trust are permanent and cannot be changed. If applicable, 48 other review sites allow a business to be listed as an information-only profile.

The review sites are listed in common areas related to a particular type of business.  Hotel and Restaurant review sites are listed in one area.  Contractor-type review sites are also grouped together.  Auto review sites are also grouped.   Some review sites cater to professional types of businesses, including lawyers, doctors, and real estate professionals.   Optional review sites may be present on the site, but only the business owner, through the business management area of their account, can activate the review site for consumers.

The business user may deselect any optional review site through their account management area. All they need to do is select hide from the site, and their listing will no longer show that review site.

    Social Media

The Site allows the business owner to link to numerous social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, a Blog, WhatsApp, TikTok, Snapchat, and Facebook Messenger. See video.

Safe and Trusted also provides software to users, allowing them to create their social media posts more easily.  The software is AI-assisted and allows unlimited posts to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and the business Google Page.  It is currently priced at 29.00 per month.  A small setup fee may be required for users who are not familiar with social media posting.

    Images

The Site allows premium plans to upload images to their profile. See video.
The Standard Subscription allows five images, the Advanced Subscription allows ten images, and the Professional Subscription provides up to 20 images.  Images or workmanship, products, food dishes, hotel rooms or treatment areas provide extra reasons why the consumer should select you. The business owner must compress the photos, or they will load incorrectly.  If the business has images on its website and a professional subscription, a better way is to provide a direct link to your website where the photos are stored.

    PDF Uploads

The Site allows premium plans to upload PDF documents to their profile.  See the video.

The Standard Subscription allows 1 PDF upload, the Advanced Subscription allows 5 PDF uploads and the Professional Subscription allows up to 10 PDF uploads. The Size of the PDF is restricted to 2 megabytes.

A PDF could be an application form, a restaurant menu, a price list, a contract form, or even documents showing required standards, such as liability insurance, compensation coverage, or more.

Again, suppose you have these documents on your website. In that case, a better approach is to have a professional subscription, which allows the business owner to provide a direct link to these documents on their business website.

    Video Uploads

The premium plans enable businesses to feature multiple YouTube videos in their profile.   See the video.

The Standard Subscription allows one YouTube video, the Advanced Subscription provides up to 5 YouTube videos, and the Professional Subscription allows up to 10 YouTube videos.   The videos the business uploads can be its videos or the videos on YouTube that display products the business sells or provides to its customers.  Consumers prefer videos over pictures.  Ensure you have a YouTube channel where all your videos are accessible.  YouTube is often considered a great search engine, comparable to Google.  All you need to do is copy the YouTube video link from your browser and paste it into your content management area.

    Subscription Tab

This will tell the business what the current subscription is for their business.
The business can change subscriptions through this tab.  A better and quicker way is to phone at 1-888-979-6490.

    eQuotes Tab

Premium plans like the Standard, Advanced, and Professional Subscriptions can view consumer requests.  See the video.

This tab provides the business owner with the necessary information to contact the consumer and offers more details about the consumer’s needs. The business must first opt into quotes in their primary tab.   Please note that consumers select who they want to contact through the live site.  They will first select the city, then the business category and narrow their search down to the business through the credentials search.    If the consumer is looking for choices of contractors, they can request quotes from up to 10 contractors in one simple request.

    Embed Tab

When the user opens this tab, the Embed code allows the user to connect their website and Safe and Trusted profile.  It is simply a smart thing to do because it directly connects your profile content to your website.  See the video

    Reviews Tab

The reviews tab is for businesses that allow reviews for their business.   See the video

Remember, in the Basic Info tab, a business can opt not to accept reviews from anyone if they already have a review process in place for other sites, such as Google, and are focusing their efforts on that area.

Those businesses that have decided to allow reviews on the Safe and Trusted website can see their reviews and publish them if they are actual client of their business. The business user can reject the review if the person leaving the review is not a known customer of that business.

A customer can only leave one review about any business. The review comes from a verified email address, but this does not mean that the person is a customer of that business.

The review system alerts businesses when they are doing something right or when they may have failed to meet a customer’s expectations. No reviews are allowed from anyone connected to the company. Should a business owner approve reviews from individuals directly connected to the business, that is a cause for an alert and subsequent removal from the Site.

Safe and Trusted Canada does not mediate issues between customers and companies, as stated in text and video at the end of every listing on the Site.

  • Content Management- Adding Basic Info

Each business with an account has access to the content management system. There are five subscription options for the business account holder.

    See the application. Trust Factors

They are the Basic, Plus, Standard, Advanced and Professional options. Each option gives the account more possibilities and marketing options.

Each account holder can manage multiple businesses under a single account.

Safe and Trusted Canada uses a content management system for business account holders. There are 13 tabs available to the business account holder, and the tabs available depend on the business’s subscription level.

The Basic Info tab is available to all subscription types. There is written content on how to enter content by the business account user. This video may help the user in key areas.

    See the video.

See how.

The Basic Info area allows businesses to enter significant data, starting with the business’s name. address, city or town, province and postal code follow. Please note that when placing information into those key areas, you are advised to do it manually. Copy and Paste functions sometimes pick up extra spaces and insert them before or after the operation. Although it will look correct in the system, it will produce errors in the live format. You can check that by using the View Live Listing link. After you place any content, don’t forget to update your profile. There are update buttons at the top and bottom of the tab.ext, you can add your business phone, cell phone, email address, and website to your profile. Your email address will not show up in live format. The reason is to eliminate spam originating from the Safe and Trusted website. If your cell phone is used as your office and cell phone, you must have both content areas populated.

You will see the Receive eQuotes question. This applies to businesses that want to receive leads from the Site. You have the option of yes or no. Some businesses have fixed pricing. Others, like contractors, want all the leads they can get. This feature is available only with premium plans. The premium plans are the Standard, Advanced, and Professional. These plans can be paid monthly. If a business is situated in an area with fewer than 1.5 million people, there are discounts, making the Standard Plan 16.50 monthly, the Advanced Plan 31.08 monthly and the Professional Plan 43.58 monthly.

Contact Person: Normally, the business owner, but you can indicate a receptionist if the contact person changes.

Affiliations: Enter the affiliation’s name into the content area, leave two spaces, and then add the link to the affiliation. Some subscriptions shorten the link so users can easily see it.

The business’s Start Date means precisely that. A start date showing many years in business is an advantage to that business with consumers.

About us. This section gives the business owner a brief way to discuss the business’s history, why they started the business, and other important information for consumers. The account holder can copy and paste the data directly from their website into this content area, or, if they do not have a website, the business owner will have to enter this content into the database manually. A business can add direct links to their website to all input areas in the Basic Info area if they have a premium plan.

Business Detail: You can add unlimited information. Remember, you do not have to include everything as a business owner. The Account holder has other areas, such as categories and credentials, which will add more content about the business.

Our Ideal Client allows the account holder to specialize in the type of customer the business aims to serve.

What Makes Us Different? Place content in this area to separate your business from the competition. If their business is precisely the same as their competitors’, then the only thing left is price. Your differences could be in business length, review quality, consumer feedback, testimonials, and affiliations. You can copy and paste the content from your website if itis available. Most times, it is not. It is advisable never to discuss your competition or complain about competition. You should indicate that our customers talk about our business and use our services for these reasons, and then state those reasons.

Keywords only work in our database: If your business’s spelling is confused with other companies, it’s a good idea to use keywords. The database allows the consumer to search by business name, business owner, business category, trade area, and phone number. The consumer can even search for the last four digits of the business phone number.

Now Hiring: If you are hiring staff, you can place content here. If you have a premium subscription, you may also include a link and a PDF in your profile to give prospective new hires more information.

Discounts and Promotions: If you have discounts or promotions, you can post content in this area. If you have a premium subscription, you may also include a link and a PDF in your profile to give prospective new hires more information.

Logo: Choose your file from your computer and add your logo.

Page views:   This is where page views are tabulated for the business owner. They do not appear in the live format to consumers. Page views are not counted if you are in the content management area. Suppose you have a link from your website to your profile on Safe and Trusted Canada.   You will also have more information available to consumers from your website.

Remember that you can shorten content and direct consumers to your website using the embed tab, which gives the business owner the direct link needed to enhance their listing if they have any of the premium plans

    Managing Your Basic and Accounts

Hello from Safe and Trusted Canada.

This video shows how you can manage your account regardless of the Plan Type the business owner selects. The same process for managing the business account applies to other premium accounts. Still, we will introduce a separate video to show the additional features and benefits of those premium plans.

The Information Only Profile is managed only by our Admin Staff.

Each business owner can manage several businesses with a single account. In this case, a single account manages several demonstration businesses set up for this video.

We will use the business Test Us Our as the demo business.

All account holders have 13 areas where content can be placed or changed. We will go through the 13 areas to explain things further. Each plan has different options, and not every plan needs to access all 13 areas.

The Basic Info area provides detailed information, and all plans start there.  To make each part of the Business info easy to understand, we include tooltips throughout the form. When clicked, tooltips open and display additional explanations.  This is how the section appears in live format.

Allow Reviews is automatic unless the account holder doesn’t want any reviews to come from Safe and Trusted Canada. There is a yes-or-no toggle in the business account

The business owner can fill in the remaining fields by copying and pasting content from their website.

Page views – Every time your listing is viewed by any visitor to the site who opens the business profile, the number of page views for that business increases. It is a running total since the business first joined the site.

The second area is Categories. Each Plan Type has different abilities in displaying primary categories and subcategories. The Basic Plan allows 1 primary category and 5 subcategories. The Plus plan increases the number of subcategories to 20.

Regions – Each province or territory has several cities and towns. The largest city in the province will always be shown first, followed by the capital city. All other cities and towns are shown in alphabetical order. The Basic and Plans allow the business owner to display one city or town, typically the business’s primary location.

Credentials are the Trusted Factors that the business displays to the public. They must be accurate.   Again, we have tooltips to ensure there is no misunderstanding of what credentials mean. Placing credentials in a listing is crucial for a business owner to attract consumers. The Credentials area also has tooltips to guide the user.

We have 54 Review Sites listed that you can display if applicable for your business. You can delete any review site, except Google and Safe and Trusted.

The Basic and Plans have access to social media platforms, and if applicable, you may place links to those sites that you are part of as a business owner.

The Basis and Plus plans do not support images, PDFs, YouTube videos, or eQuotes.

You can view your subscription level under Subscription.  When you enable consumer reviews, the Reviews Tab displays all reviews.  Business management and affiliated parties may not submit reviews.

Thank you for listening to this video.

  • No Risk to the Business Owner

Safe and Trusted Canada is a consumer-focused business information directory designed to help consumers research and compare businesses. The business always controls its business and can request removal at any time.  See our application.  Trust Factors

Safe and Trusted Canada provides consumers with business information through Information-Only Profiles.  These profiles reflect information consumers would reasonably expect to find online and may include publicly available contact details, the business’s contact details (if publicly available), links to social media platforms, and links to third-party review or profile sites associated with the business.

Consumers are responsible for reviewing all linked content, ratings, and reviews.  Third-party review platforms may display both positive and negative feedback, and links change over time. Safe and Trusted Canada does not control, verify, or restrict Information Only Profiles based on quality, including both positive and negative feedback.  We will list all businesses and links to all review sites as part of our inclusion standards.
We list all review sites and social media sites so that the consumer has full information.  We do not endorse any review site or social media site. Those sites are accountable for their own reports.

An Information-Only Profile is presented exactly as labelled- for informational purposes only.

Participation in Safe and Trusted Canada is designed to create no risk for business owners. Safe and Trusted Canada is a neutral, consumer-facing informational directory and does not accredit, endorse, validate, or rank. or recommend any business. A business’s presence, absence or subscription level does not reflect its credibility, quality, trustworthiness, legitimacy or regulatory compliance. A listing may be archived if the business fails to update or manage its information, ceases operation or requests removal.

Information-only profiles may be removed at any time without contacting the company if it is inactive or unverified.  If a business requests removal, Safe and Trusted Canada will archive the listing. Archiving removes the business from public view but prevents accidental re-listings in future updates. Archived records are retained internally for administrative purposes only.  Businesses that maintain an active account and accurate information remain listed according to their current subscription level.  Safe and Trusted Canada recognizes that Restaurants. Hotels and other hospitality businesses differ from credential-based service providers.  These listings are retained to preserve consumer choice, particularly in small communities, and rely primarily on ratings and public reviews from multiple platforms.

Business owners remain in control of their participation in Safe and Trusted Canada at all times.  Participation is voluntary.  Businesses may update, downgrade, or cancel their subscription at any time.  They will remain as an Information Only profile unless the owner confirms they are no longer in business or the business requests removal.

Businesses with an Information-Only profile may contact Site Administration by email or through the chat widget to request correction to basic factual information. Businesses may also apply for a free Basic Subscription, which allows them to manage and update profile content directly and, where applicable, display business-provided credentials.

When a business is confirmed to be permanently out of operation, its profile is marked “Out of Business” to inform consumers.

    Profile Alerts and Consumer Notices

Safe and Trusted Canada may apply a visible alert to a business with an account profile where the business controls content in the following situations:

    a) A visible alert may be applied where a business represents credentials, certifications, or affiliations that it does not possess.  Safe and Trusted Canada does not act as a licensing or regulatory authority; municipal, provincial, and federal agencies are responsible for monitoring business legitimacy, licensing, professional regulation, and workers’ compensation.  Displaying credentials is optional and primarily relevant to contractor-based businesses.  All credentials are self-reported and not required. Businesses are responsible for ensuring that any credentials they display are accurate and up to date.

    b) A visible alert may be applied where reviews are represented as independent but originate from individuals connected to the business.

    c) Where a business is no longer in operation, Safe and Trusted Canada updates the profile accordingly.  This is a common occurrence across all industries.  Businesses may notify Site Administration if they have permanently closed.  Information-only profiles are updated automatically when closure is confirmed.  Where a business previously displayed credentials or where consumer interactions may be affected, a visible “Out of Business” alert may be applied to support consumer awareness.

In each of these cases, an alert remains visible on the profile for one year, after which the profile may be archived, where applicable.

    Subscription Notes

Safe and Trusted Canada offers a free Basic Subscription to most businesses seeking to engage with consumers and present their credentials transparently. Paid subscriptions are non-refundable.

If a paid subscription is cancelled, the profile automatically reverts to an Information-Only Profile.  Profiles are archived only when a business is confirmed to be permanently closed and has completed the one-year Out of Business visibility period.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE PLACE THE FOLLOWING CONTENT INTO EVERY PROFILE

        • Information Only Profiles are advertised to the public on the internet.
        • It is the responsibility of the user to check the credentials advertised by the business.
        • Notify Site Admin immediately where the business is advertising credentials they do not have or information is not current.
        • The company and the consumer entirely determine transactions with each other.
        • Safe and Trusted Canada does not mediate complaints, issues, or concerns.
        • Seek legal advice for complex transactions.
        • Protect your interests, as the removal of the business, may occur at any time.
